Present international artificial intelligence (AI) inventory and progression in self-driving vehicle research and development

Complementary subjects in technology are also artificial intelligence ( AI) and self-driving vehicles. In brief, without someone involved, you just can’t debate one.
While AI has been rapidly applied in different areas, a new hot topic has been the way you use it in the automotive industry.
As each automaker and its parent company battle for the advancement of artificial intelligence and autonomous driving technologies, several technology startups and start-ups have arisen for the same intent.
While many people believe that the future is personal self-driving vehicles, with how vehicles are designed and how they operate on the streets, there are many ways to incorporate AI and machine learning.
Artificial Intelligence in the Manufacture of Vehicles
In virtually every part of the automotive production process, multinational manufacturers use artificial intelligence. In order to reliably assemble the initial nuts and bolts of the machine or the original nuts of the self-driving vehicle through the machine to safely cross traffic, artificial intelligence can witness humans using machine learning and vision.

See how these companies put AI on the ground.

Self-driving car

Let’s get moving in the room with the elephant: self-driving vehicles.
Many large automotive manufacturers are working hard to build their own self-driving vehicles and driving features, but based on the idea of self-driving cars, we will concentrate on comparatively young technology firms and start-ups.
The following firms are at the forefront of autonomous vehicle technologies, whether their technologies is used for mass transit, ride-sharing or personal uses.
nuTonomy

nuTonomy: Navigate complex traffic situations

Location: Boston, Massachusetts

How it uses AI in cars:  nuTonomy is creating autonomous driving technology for fully driverless vehicles.

nuTonomoy’s technology nuCore allows flexible and human-like vehicle operation (error-free). The software enables the vehicle to navigate even in the most complex traffic situations.

The company’s goal is to provide driverless fleets where needed to ensure safer roads, less traffic and less pollution.

Industry impact: Recently, nuTonomy has cooperated with Lyft to test vehicles in the Boston Seaport area to provide Lyft users with ride services, and has gained more attention in changing the way people travel.

AutoX: self-driving delivery for groceries
Location: California, San Jose
How it utilizes AI in vehicles: AutoX creates self-driving cars focused on retail.
In order to make safe decisions along the trip, the company’s vehicles integrate AI apps, sensors, real-time cameras and thousands of virtual and physical test miles.
Users are mainly focused on food distribution. Users can pick and deliver items from their applications and, during distribution, access their vehicle-based mobile stores.
Industry impact: AutoX recently launched its pilot program in San Jose, evaluating the geo-fenced area operation, with plans to extend the field every couple of weeks.

Drive.ai: Transport passengers on a fixed route

Location: Mountain View, California

How it uses AI in cars:  Drive.ai is using artificial intelligence to change the current transportation system through autonomous driving services.

Not only are these cars self-driving, but they also interact with local drivers and pedestrians, such as giving pedestrians a sign signaling that they will be waiting for pedestrians to cross the lane.
A fleet is meant to carry passengers around a fixed route and it is easier to track a fixed route than a private self-driving vehicle. Private self-driving vehicles, such as building, speed limits, collisions and road reductions, need to be modified in advance for updates that may affect driving.
Industry impact: The organization is currently testing their cars on a fixed route near Frisco, Texas with human safety operators.

Optimus Prime: Sustainable Transport

Location: Boston, Massachusetts

How it uses AI in cars:  Optimus Ride is a self-driving car company that creates self-driving cars for geographical locations.

The company’s smart electric vehicles allow more effective and safe cities to be developed, freeing up parking space, reducing the number of cars on the road and reducing the effects on the environment.
For campuses, neighborhoods and towns, Optimus from MIT offers easy and safe transportation.
Industry impact: The company’s cars earned the green light for trials in Massachusetts towns as of last year. The business is not based on long-distance travel and has been experimenting by bringing people to the local train station from the Boston community construction project and cars from the local train station.

Waymo: 360-degree perception technology

Location: Mountain View, California

How it uses AI in cars: Waymo has now become its own company, beginning with the discovery of autonomous vehicles by Google, which develops driverless cars that can carry people safely from point A to point B.
Waymo has over 8 million miles of autonomous driving so far. Up to 300 yards out, the 360-degree vision technology can track cyclists, other cars , motorcycles, road work and other obstacles.
Effect of the industry: in downtown Phoenix, Waymo has provided trial ride services. You should inquire for a try if you are a local and want to see it yourself!

Zoox: Robot Carpool

Location: Foster City, California

Ways to use AI in cars:  Although some companies are equipping existing vehicles with autonomous driving capabilities, Zoox is creating its own self-driving cars from scratch.

These cars are produced as robotic passenger cars. Similar to current transportation services such as Uber or Lyft, users will call Zoox vehicles through apps on their smartphones.

Industry impact:  Zoox is currently working to transform its prototype into a mature vehicle by 2020.
