It doesn’t get any more “new normal” than this. Recognizing the needs brought about by the Coronavirus pandemic, LG has stepped up to the plate to give us the PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier.
Announced ahead of IFA 2020, the LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier can be your go-to mask as we navigate life under a pandemic. It employs two Total Care Filters similar to the HEPA filters used in the company’s home air purifier products. The filters not only purify air coming into the lungs, they also filter exhaled air just as effectively.
LG’s wearable air purifier allows users to take in clean, filtered air with its Dual Fans and patented Respiratory Sensor. Meanwhile, the Respiratory Sensor detects the cycle and volume of the wearer’s breath and adjusts the dual three-speed fans accordingly. The fans automatically speed up to assist air intake and slow down to reduce resistance when exhaling to make breathing effortless.
Worried about fit? LG designed these based on extensive facial shape analysis. It should fit snugly to minimize air leakage around the nose and chin. The design also makes it comfortable to wear for hours. Its 820mAh battery offers up to eight hours of operation in low mode and two hours on high.
It also comes with a case that helps maintain hygiene between uses. Equipped with UV-LED lights that kills harmful germs, the case can even charge the mask and sends a notification to the LG ThinQ mobile app (Android/iOS) when the filters need to be replaced for peak performance.
Lastly, every component of LG PuriCare Wearable – from the filters to the ear straps – is replaceable and recyclable. It’s an environmentally responsible solution as well.
LG may not have revealed a new smartphone during IFA 2020, but they announced a revolutionary device.
Meet the LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier — a mask that has a built-in air purifier into it. ‘PuriCare’ is LG’s special line for their air and water purifiers. The mask is battery-powered and charges via USB-C to keep it running. It also has fans and even HEPA filters to filter out pesky
Although this isn’t approved yet for commercial use, we’re still hoping that regular consumers would be able to have one of their own — especially that the COVID-19 crisis is far from ending.
